Riversdale Estate Syrah Wins Gold in Tasmania

The Riversdale Estate 2016 Syrah has Won Gold at its first showing.

Up against 15 other Tasmanian Shiraz at the Annual Tasmanian Regional Wine Show, the early drinking style Syrah was one of only two in the class to Win a Gold Medal.

Chairman of Judges Huon Hooke described the 2016 early-drinking Riversdale Estate Syrah as "a delicious nouveau style"

"Shiraz just keeps getting better in Tassie"

"Just because the rest of Australia does it, doesn's mean you shouldn't, because there's a market for this style of Shiraz, and its very different from what everybody else is doing in Australia. The public is now demanding more and more light to medium bodied red wine, and you're in the box seat in Tasmania to produce that style of wine"
